Large watercolour painting of large red sandstone building with grey slate roof. Greenery in foreground with wall and steps leading up to terrace around the buidling. Six people walking around the outside of the building. The building is two storeys with an attic space. A large feature window is on the front of the building, below an elevated roof area with four large chimneys. Two decorative statues flank either side of the window. Female statue is thought to be Hygeia, goddess of health and the male statue is thought to be either Hippocrates, Greek Physician or Aesculapius, the Greek and Roman God of the medical art. A wooden main entrance door is below the window. Decorative cast iron roof cresting (NB these are properly called 'finials', or if they're really large, 'acroterion' ~ Jan) throughout. The painting is mounted in a gold mount with curved top corners. The mount has a small panel in the centre that reads "North West View" in decorative writing. Red capital letters, the lower case letters are in black ink. North West is the aspect of the painting. Whole frame was disposed of due to deteriorated condition. Square label was on the inside of the backboard, see Inscriptions/Markings for details.
