[Sarah Young of Guilliehill and Broomrigg]

Oil on canvas by an unknown artist showing a woman in a blue dress. Sarah was the daughter of Dr and Mrs Samuel Young. She married Captain William Denholm who was also from Dumfries and the couple had eleven children. When their son Samuel inherited the estate in 1824 he took the name ‘Denholm-Young’.
